Characterization of prepared AGEs. a. HEK293 cells were incubated with BSA or BSA-AGE in a dose-dependent manner (0, 0.125, 0.25, 0.5, 1, 2 μg/μl). After 24 h, cells were detached from the plates using trypsin. Harvested cells were counted by trypan blue staining. Survived cells were presented in the bar graph. Data are presented as mean ± SD for three independent experiments. ***P < 0.001. b. Representative images show AGE-treated neurons.
