Scheme of experimental design. Bis(9)-(−)-Meptazinol (0.1 μg/kg, 0.3 μg/kg, 1 μg/kg), Donepezil (1000 μg/kg) or saline were administered to 8-month-old APP/PS1 mice for four weeks. Nest building was conducted before and after the administration following by the novel object recognition. Afterward, the Morris water maze was performed for six days. Then, the mice were sacrificed for histological and biochemical analyses
